All about payments, payouts, fees and the trial period
How do payments work? How much does it cost?
The prices of coaches are very simple to understand. Prices are all in USD and on a monthly basis for the subscription plans.
There's a few things to keep in mind:
- You will only have a free trial once per coach. If you try out different coaches, you will have a trial with each for them, however if you cancel and sign up with a coach again, there won't be another trial.
- You will automatically get charged after the trial is up and after every subsequent month, even if you don't end up talking to your coach
- You generally won't pay extra for any kind of sessions or calls with your coach, unless it's a service that wasn't included in your package
Our monthly pricing provides exactly a structure that is attractive to coaches, and fair to clients: Stable, yet short billing cycles, that allow clients to quickly try out coaching relationships – and back out if things go south.
What if I don't have a session with my coach? What if we don't talk?
We want to give clients and coaches the ability to form their own coaching relationships. Therefore, a fixed communication cycle (e.g. in form of a weekly call) is not required by us. We want you to have this relationship on your own schedule. We've seen good results with relationships that are continuously in touch, but also with relationships who only communicate every other week. If you don't have a session with your coach in a given week, that doesn't void your payment.
That being said, above all else, the recurring billing cycle is a protection for you. If you feel like a coach is neglecting you, it's your chance to cancel the coaching relationship quickly and get back the money you have "wasted". Our refund policy is very generous there. We also allow coaches to pause relationships, so if funds are low or there is no opportunity to connect, you can always pause.
When do I need to enter my payment details?
If a coach accepts your application, we are going to e-mail you and ask you to enter your payment details. After you do this, we won't charge you right away. Your 7 day free trial will kick in, and you won't get charged for those days.
So, why do we want your payment information now? The reason is simple: Once you formally enter the coaching agreement, your coach will prepare to work long-term with you. We and your future coach need a security that you have the ability to come up for the monthly payments. Coaches provide this service in their free time, and it is important for us to keep no-shows and dropouts to a minimum.
